First things first. For my Christian friends I believe that would be Happy Easter! This is one of the holiest and special days on the calendar so I sincerely wish you all the blessings and happiness of the season.
For me however, first things first means Happy Happy birthday to my dear and delightful "I'm a big girl now!" three year old muffin! "The girl" as we affectionately have called her since before she was born came into the world with spunk and speed (only four hours of labor unexpectedly early) foreshadowing her approach to life even from the beginning. Some of you may not know that I had her when I was 44 years old, long after many would consider it prudent to become a mother and I had personally figured that parenthood was likely out this time around for me. How thrilling to find I was wrong when we conceived her on our first try!
The entire experience has been miraculous and I am continuously blown away by the depth of emotion and delight having this little person in my life gives me. I shared earlier in the week that aspects of Joy are now possible because of her very existence. You read about it and hear about it but it really isn't fully graspable until you become a parent. The love, concern and wonder of each day, each developmental milestone is all consuming and I feel honored and blessed by every minute, even the defiant,, shrieky, or obstinate ones!
My Jessie Girl
What a wonderful close to Joy week!
In the world of scoring this week I will give myself a 6 out of 10. I didn't come close to doing all of my initiatives but I did make a solid effort. Knowing that Jessie's birthday was this week gave the entire week a special glow that I'm expecting will continue for quite a while, for this reason I will give myself 6 bliss boosts!
Once again Happy Easter everyone! I'm off to wish for some cake!
Next Post: An orderly beginning!
Wondering what this is all about?
I've got something to say about Joy!

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your Little Person! She'll always be your Little Person no matter what her age or experience in life! I think the Moms who appreciate their children are the priveledged ones as so many never take the time to, or are so tangled in their own life problems. I've tried over the years to never take my children for granted and to appreciate each of them for what they are and where they're at. Difficult when they are driving you round the twist but still...
