I decided I wanted to make this Gratitude week a carnival of gratefulness and what carnival would be complete with out prizes? As I was thinking about what might be a worthwhile incentive for everyone to play I decided it would be really fun to help others as we get present to all the great things in our lives. SO what I will be doing this week is to encourage all of you to leave a message in my gratitude linky telling me what you are grateful for today. Every message will mean a donation made to Heifer.org because for every grateful message I will donate $1.00* (* I will donate up to a maximum of One Pig for this giveaway) and at the conclusion of the week I will pick one lucky commenter in who's name the gift will be given. In addition to the exceptional gift, possibly of one pig, the winner will also receive a small Everyday Bliss Gratitude Gift which I will reveal later in the week!

For those of you not familiar with Heifer.org, I heartily encourage you to visit their site. Several years ago my sister gave a family the gift of a goat in my name. That year I received no little package under the Christmas tree but it is probably one of my happiest in memory. Knowing that a family would be no longer starve because of "my gift" was the best gift I have ever received. Since that year we routinely buy each other the gift of geese, pigs and other animals as our way to acknowledge a birthday or holiday. After watching this video running water will top your gratitude list!
I started a Gratitude Giving Game Registry over on the Heifer.org site for this game so if any of you are inspired to give a flock of geese or even a dollar or two you can do so there. Heifer uses a secure payment system through Amazon.com so you can be certain your gift is secure. So what are you waiting for? Let me know why you are grateful today!
Sign me up! I am grateful and I want to win that pig!

ReplyDeleteThis is a great organization! And I love that Alton Brown sponsors it!!! I <3 Alton Brown! LOL! We did this through a different organization and it is so wonderful to know you are helping in a truly meaningful way!
ReplyDeleteKathy this is wonderful (and I'm so excited that I might win me a pig!)
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea! Here we have an organisation called 'Bothar' which does much the same thing, and we have such fun choosing animals and gifts to send around the world. Its a great way for the children to learn life lessons too.
ReplyDeleteI am grateful for many things, food on the table, a house with glass in the windows, warm blankets, my children, summer, the mountains on my doorstep...too many to choose one!
