So I started this order week off with a bang! And I am here to report the momentum has been inspiring. Since the momentous garage cleaning over the weekend, I've gotten the car detailed (9 year old car totally looks new! SO worth the money!), sorted and tossed mismatched toys resulting in all of Sweet's stuff fitting in her bins, and I have even cleaned my kitchen floor! We have drawers that fit all of our stuff and I no longer need to spend 20 minutes before leaving the house to locate sun hats water bottles and sunglasses... they are actually where they belong!! SO liberating I must tell you!
One hears organization experts tell you about the freedom and lightness that can be felt when a desk is clean but I have never been one to experience this. Clutter has been my middle name since I can remember. When I was a kid it got so bad in my room that my parents moved me up to our attic just to keep my space from being the eye sore on our main floor. Now I LOVED my banishment and freedom to decorate and do pretty much what ever I wanted with my new space but cleanliness was never its crowning feature.
I have had bouts of orderliness in the past, usually induced by my vanity (I would not want any visitor to know I am a slob at heart) but I feel the hopeful feel of the turning tide. I am currently compelled to pick up things as I walk by them and I look for little blocks of time to clean out the cupboard on top of the refrigerator and even rescue all the toys from behind the sectional in the living room. I feel slightly possessed but it is fabulous.
When I first read (sometime last week when she sent it to me) in Katina's guest post that Order should be a way of life, rather then an event I remember thinking, "Oh wouldn't that be nice?!" never guessing that I could make such a transformation so quickly. I am clear that I will need on going training not to slip back to my former slovenly ways but that first grand gesture of cleaning out the garage has caused a tidal wave of change for me. The resulting space both literal and in my head is allowing me to think more creatively (How nice that Creativity week is coming up!) and I have the actual feeling of room or space in which something new may arrise. Making it the PERFECT time for my new "opening and allowing" vision board.
I'm so excited to feel the new space in and around me!
How about you? Any SPACE opening up in your world?

This week we are exploring Order.
Next week is all about Passion.
Ok, for two days I've been telling you next week is Passion week.
Actually it is Creativity week...
hmmm wonder what my passionate anticipation will bring?!
What I would GIVE for more space!!! My art supplies keep growing - and my creative space keeps shrinking! Need to get my house in order. :) Theresa
ReplyDelete*sigh* Order in my space. It's a funny thing. Sometimes it's messy, but orderly. Other times, it's picked up, but not at all orderly. And then there are those disaster times, but we don't like to think about those! LOL! I do love order, though. It makes me feel calm. I love the photo on this post!
