Live with Passion!!!

PASSION - a fervent or extravagant fondness, enthusiasm, or desire for anything; experience of strong love or sexual desire.

Live with Passion!

That is a famous Tony Robbins  tag line. If you ever listened to his motivational tapes or attended his programs you heard it hundreds of times. I have actually attended his Life Mastery program myself and I am here to tell you his stuff is amazing. I've heard people scoff at his programs but I have seen them make a huge difference for people and, all the hype aside, the guy really walks his talk. He is the embodiment of passion.  For more then 30 years he has kept his passionate momentum going. I find this fascinating.

I bring him up for two reasons. First I think I could use an injection of Tony Robbins style passion. I have been saying I am "on the verge" of something but the truth be told I've been on the verge of something my entire life. I was talking with my sister the other day and she asked me a powerful question. "What is it about being on the verge is it that keeps you there?" At the time I answered her with "It is fun and kind of exciting." but ever since saying that I'm not sure that is still true. I'm really looking for some kind of a break through to get to the other side of this... what ever "this" is.

Then this morning I read an email which happened to mention that Tony Robbins has a TV show starting up tomorrow called "Breakthrough." How is that for serendipity?! The premise of the show is to take people in seemingly impossible situations and turn things around for them in 30 days. In addition to what ever is on the show he will be doing follow up web seminars where he will delve more deeply into the stories and share how others can make use of the principles highlighted in the TV program. Being a Tony Robbins junkie I think this sounds like a ton of fun and I am hopeful I might even get the kick in the pants that is calling me. See the trailers and stuff here. The first episode is tomorrow night, I'll definitely be watching!

This week's  "Bliss Initiatives" are color coded in purple for quick identification. They are specific things that you too can try, if you want to play along with me.  However, because as Earl Nightingale says, "you become what you think about,"  even if you only follow along,  and never take on any of the bliss initiatives,  I expect some positive results. (Please Note: I am re-visiting these from last passion week since I whisked away to DisneyIand and was unable to try them out!) I will be exploring and encouraging PASSION this way:

  •  Indulge your interests -  From FindArticles post  Improve your Groove  The time you spend away from work is meant to refresh and rejuvenate you. But how often do you actually enjoy those hard-earned days off? Make the most of your leisure hours because time flies even when you're not having fun--especially if your commute is long and your workload spills into nights and weekends.
Action item What hobbies have you been wanting to take up? If you've always fantasized about performing, enroll in an acting class or sign up for piano lessons. Or try turning your to-do list into a "to-be list," suggests Joe Robinson, author of Work to Live (Perigee, 2003). "Look for things that make you feel at home, in awe, inspired or impassioned. Those are great places to be," he writes. "The idea is to lose yourself, and your usual self-conscious straining, to the surroundings."
  • Keep things fresh - If you are in a romantic relationship this is the week to do something fun and surprising. It is all too easy to let your comfortable relationship get too comfortable. If you don't already employ The 30 Second Kiss which I have brought up multiple times (in these posts ), or in my case have slacked off it is time to get back in that groove. Other fun romantic gestures should also be added liberally (try the ezine article 101 Romantic Gestures  if you need some inspiration.)
  • Keep overall enthusiasm and energy high. From I do InspireStrive to increase overall energy in your work environment. You need this energy to fuel passion. Smile, laugh, and engage in fun activities to keep energy levels high.
Fake it until you make it. The trick is to act passionately even if you aren’t, eventually it becomes a habit and in the meantime your energy will lift everyone up.
Everyday our body language comes through loud and clear. Is yours inspiring confidence and energy in others or is it tired or just uptight?

How will you be amping up the passion in your life this week?

  1. Once again a fascinating start to another blissful way of being. "What is it that keeps you there [on the verge]"...really sticking with me. I'm thinking "passionate"...and going to BE that, baby! Whoo hoo!

  2. Oh, I like this initiatives very much. I have been working on a few new paintings. They are inspiring me to create more of the like. I have tried a few different concepts, but now I feel I should settle on one. My hubby just came back from visiting his mom in Idaho. And seeing him again is like meeting him again. We're finally going to spend a nice quiet evening together tonight. Then tomorrow, it's time to create my new art piece! Passion! Theresa
