What a way to end my gratitude week! My day started with my almost three year old draped over me saying "Is it daylight yet? I don't wanna get up. I wanna snuggle with you!" My husband is away on business so I let her stay in my bed last night. She is a total bed hog and I received several kicks and pokes during the night but it was all worth it for that morning snuggle.
Later, I dropped Jessie off at my lovely friends Britta & Jörg's house so that Jessie could have a play date with their daughter Emelie while I attended my dear friend Jaye's crafty birthday party. It is so wonderful to have friends that you trust so completely with your child that you can be freed up to have a great time being a grown up somewhere else.
Jaye's birthday gathering was a ton of fun and I ended up making a really neat mosaic-ish, multimedia mirror. For you crafty readers you would have been SO proud of me diving right in with the paper and glue. I'll be revealing the final product as soon as I get the glitch in my photo downloading program worked out... I'm grateful for Jaye's adult only gathering, I do not do that enough, and for our friendship that goes back so many years.
Next up in my busy grateful day was the monthly potluck supper with my mommy and daddy friends. It was a total blast as usual. Hosted this time by Efsun and John, we were treated to Efsun's characteristically over the top, over abundant and super delicious Turkish treats. Chris brought dessert as usual and while having never made it before stunned us all with Baklava better then any bakery version I have ever tried. Food aside, it is a marvelous gathering of people who enjoy each other's company and I so appreciate having all of them in our lives. It really is something special to be with people that both you and your child love. All the mommies and kids will meet at the park again tomorrow... we do not get tired of each other!
The final topper on my day was a phone call from my sweetie, who was busy enjoying his Monday afternoon in Taipei. (Isn't travel over the international date line trippy?) As I write this, Jessie is snoozing soundly in her bed and I am feeling a completely satisfied "Christmas Morning Living" kind of day!
So I suppose I should get to the marks... I'm going with a 7 out of 10 and 5 bliss boosts for the week, which is a bit higher then last gratitude week.... but even more exciting that by distinguishing yesterday that it is possible anticipate gratitude any time I have given myself access to Gratitude all the time. Of course there is still choosing to do but I feel the possibility is more alive then it has been for a long time.
Oh, and I checked back to confirm that my small donation did in fact help to save these three cows! Visit This is it! Creations if you want to hear the whole story and/or if you would like to contribute to their care and feeding.
