This blog isn't Zen Habits...

I have had a bit of a revelation this morning. Somewhere recently, either here or over on my Everyday Mommy blog, I wrote how I wanted my Everyday Bliss blog to become the next Zen Habits. I totally LOVE that blog and am always inspired and impressed by what I read over there. Leo Babauta has the most amazing ability to thoughtfully and succinctly say so many of the things I think about and actually want to cover over here on Everyday Bliss that I have been left feeling like Everyday Bliss was failing.

When I wrote this on Sunday
Get back to the basics and write posts that I love. When I started this blog I was so inspired about the project and had so much to say it was simple and very enjoyable to write a post everyday. Once all the logistics were shared (which I have to admit an unnatural fascination for) it really wasn't necessary to post EVERY day but I still felt compelled to do so, causing me to put out some less then stellar material. A blog isn't a pulitzer prize winning novel and I don't promise brilliance in every post going forward but I'm going on the theory that LESS may actually be more and intend on producing more thought provoking and thoughtful material.

I really had this vision of a slow percolating process whereby I somehow mused longer and found more inspiring material by not being quick to write everything down. I was going to write 3-4 times a week, not 6-7 like I have been doing and the added time will help me create even better material. Ha! Well this isn't what happened at all. As I sit here today I am no more or less prepared then I ever was and now I have the added pressure that THIS post be a great one!

Alright I know "great" is a very subjective thing and if I am going to be really honest with myself I have probably only written 10-12  "great" posts this entire year. The other posts may have been entertaining fun or in some cases down right bad but I am realizing now that my process really requires that I put a pen to paper (Ha! love that idea but truly it is "fingers to keyboard") everyday. The name of my blog is EVERYDAY BLISS for goodness sake, not every other day bliss!!

So there you have it. I'm going back to writing every day. This may mean that I post a few stinkers but I hope you'll hang in there with me because sometime soon I expect and hope that something I write will be good enough to make a difference for you!

If you comment today I would appreciate knowing which of my posts (in type or specifically) you like best. Thanks!
